SENIORS SPEAK LOUDLY ON PROTECTING

THE FUTURE THEY HAVE EARNED

Washington, D.C./July 14, 2009. The Seniors Coalition (TSC) National Spokesperson Flora “Grandma” Green announced today the results of the 2009 TSC National Survey on Legislative Issues and called upon Congress to respect the views of the majority of seniors in enacting policies that will protect the future seniors have earned with their hard work and careful planning for their retirement.

Grandma Green reaffirmed TSC’s commitment to keep fighting CoLA cuts, opposing “means testing” of Social Security and Medicare benefits, favoring a total repeal of the “Death Tax”, repealing the Clinton tax on Social Security benefits, protecting every senior’s right to choose their own doctor, expanding the prescription drug benefit for Medicare, and opposing the Obama health care plan, and continuing TSC’s fight as the leading advocate for seniors on Capitol Hill.
