Totalization agreements have hardly been a source of contention over the years. Most of the public is familiar with hot button issues like border security, illegal immigration, and cost of living adjustments (COLA) - but totalization is only likely to get noticed when something perilous is afoot. Accordingly, I have grave concerns about the Social Security totalization agreement that Commissioner Jo Anne Barnhart signed with her Mexican counterpart on June 29, 2004, as this agreement could open the door and allow illegal aliens to receive benefits from an already strained Social Security system.. Before her term as House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi proposed an unconstitutional bill which seeks to prevent grassroots organizations - or any community leader who reaches more than 500 people - from encouraging their members to contact their representatives in Washington. A pet can mean many things to people at different stages in their life. To a child, it is a new friend. To a young adult who has moved out for the first time, they are a comfort. To a senior, they are all those things and much more. For a senior, with the children moved out or long gone, the home can seem empty. Numerous studies have found that the over 65 population in America are prone to loneliness and stress-related illness. A study published in the journal of the American Geriatrics Society found that pets could be beneficial to a senior's sense of well-being.
